MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW)_ The Little Apple is adding to its reputation as a bio-research hub.

Sen. Sam Brownback plans to attend an event Monday, announcing the relocation of the Anthropod-Borne Animal Disease Research Lab to Manhattan.

The lab is currently located in Laramie, Wyoming.

Congresswoman Llynn Jenkins and several city and state officials also will attend.

Brownback called the move the culmination of nearly four years of work that will further cement kansas as a global leader for animal health research.
