Topeka (WIBW) - Shawnee County is ready to offer its first public H1N1 vaccinations, but only to people who meet certain criteria.

The clinic is set for 10 am to 2 pm Thursday at the Kansas Expocentre.

Groups eligible for the first clinic are:
*Healthcare workers with direct contact with patients
*Pregnant women
*Children six months to four years old
*Anyone ages 5 to 18 with underlying health conditions
*Caregivers of children under six months, including parents

The agency says it will eventually have enough for everyone, but wants to make sure those at risk are protected first.

Subsequent clinics are scheduled for the following three Thursdays, so long as there's vaccines available.

Eligible groups may change as vaccine supply dictates, so people are urged to call the county's hotline at 211 for the most up-to-date information.

In addition, St. Francis Health Center will have a number of nasal mist doses of H1N1 vaccine available to patients of its primary clinics. Healthy people ages 2-24 who are not pregnant and healthy people ages 25-49 who are not pregnant and who are caregivers to children under six months of age are eligible to receive the vaccine. Patients must call to schedule an appointment.

Also, Stormont -Vail HealthCare will have an H1N1 vaccination clinic for Cotton-O'Neil patients who are ages 2-9 years and healthy adults who are caregivers to children under six months of age. It will be held from 9 am to 5 pm Thursday at the Cotton-O'Neil Heart Center, 929 SW Mulvane.
