TOPEKA -- When film producer Patricia Federico took on the task of putting Katrina survival stories in a documentary for the record, she asked 47 survivors if they would talk with her.

45 of them said yes.

Their compelling stories are shown in Federico's new documentary, "Survival, Strength, Starting Over," to be shown Saturday afternoon at the Westar Energy building's Wymore Theatre. The program will be shown, free of charge, starting at 2:30. Other screenings to be held around the nation, will charge an admission fee.

Federico was very pleased with the outstanding audience response when the documentary was shown at Washburn's Mabee Library on Thursday. The program was just seen by audiences in San Francisco, as well as the famed Cafe du Monde in New Orleans last August 20th.

A reception will be held after "Surviving" is shown. You can find out more about Federico's company at www.peaceoutproductions.net.
