(WIBW) - Selling alcohol on Sundays remains up for debate in a couple Kansas communities.
The Manhattan City Commission is slated to take a final vote on the issue at its meeting Tuesday night.
Meantime, the Abilene Reflector-Chronicle reports Sunday liquor sales could be allowed in that community by the end of the month.
Dickinson County Attorney Keith Hoffman ruled a petition to force a public vote on allowing Sunday sales was not valid. Therefore, he says, an ordinance approved by Abilene City Commissioners in June should go into effect.
An Abilene businessman requested a change to allow Sunday sales, saying local stores were losing business to neighboring communities.
