Motorcycle Ride Planned To Benefit Wounded Warriors
Motorcycle riders are invited to several northeast Kansas cities September 19 to ride for the Wounded Warrior/Fisher House Foundation. The foundation supports military families through various activities to support the quality of life for America's military.

Northeast Kansas - Members of the Kansas National Guard and local communities will be participating in a benefit motorcycle ride for the Wounded Warrior / Fisher House Foundation Saturday, Sept. 19.
The foundation supports military families through its networks of Fisher Houses, the scholarships for military children program, grants program for volunteer organizations and various other activities to support the quality of life for America's military.
The ride is being sponsored by the Patriot Guard Riders of Kansas, Briggs Auto Group, Topeka Harley Davison, Heartland Park Topeka and the American Legion Riders.
The ride will consist of four legs and will originate from the following
points:
* Fort Riley / Manhattan
Location: Visitors Center at Fort
Riley/Marshall Field (I-70 exit 301)
Registration starts at 11 a.m. Kickstands up at 12 noon.
* Fort Leavenworth
Location: Kansas National Guard Armory, 2 Sherman Avenue, Leavenworth
Registration starts at 11 a.m. Kickstands up at 12 noon.
* Olathe
Location: Kansas National Guard Armory, 1601 W Hiway 56, Olathe
Registration starts at 11 a.m. Kickstands up at 12 noon.
* Topeka
Location: Museum of the Kansas National Guard, 6700 S.W. Topeka Blvd, Topeka
Registration starts at 8 a.m. Kickstands up at 9 a.m. A pancake feed sponsored by the Museum will be held from 8 to 9 a.m.
The Topeka riders will be riding to Holton, 444 E. 15th St. (arriving at approximately 10 a.m.) and then on to Ozawkie, West Hwy 92, (arriving at approximately 12 noon). Members from the Kansas National Guard Family Programs and members of the Family Readiness Group for the 2nd Battalion, 130th Field Artillery will be present at both locations with drinks and baked goods for the riders. Kansas National Guard Recruiting and Retention will have an obstacle course in Holton. They will have a football toss and the climbing wall in Ozawkie.
All locations will rally at 2 p.m. at the Museum of the Kansas National Guard, Forbes Airfield, 6700 S.W. Topeka Blvd. At the museum, a $25 entry fee per bike and $10 per passenger will be collected from riders participating in the events.
At 3:30 p.m., the riders will depart the Museum of the Kansas National Guard and ride to Heartland Park Topeka, where all motorcycles will take a victory lap during a break at the Division Five ET Final Drag Races.
The All American Beef Battalion will provide a steak sandwich and side dishes for the riders. Afterwards, riders are able to stay and watch the remainder of the races at Heartland Park Topeka.
