Emporia (KVOE) - A Lyon County jury has found an Ozawkie man not guilty of the most serious charges he faced in a traffic death that happened two years ago.
KVOE Radio reports a jury acquitted Donald Petitt of vehicular homicide in the traffic death of Rachel Hall. However, the jury did find Petitt guilty of failure to yield.
Petitt told the jury it was the first day on the job for him at Penny's Ready Mix and the reason he used the intersection where the accident happened was because another driver told him there was less traffic.
