House Fire Caused By Gas Lit Tree
House fire on SW 8th caused by tree covered with gas then lit.

Topeka (WIBW) - Topeka Fire was called to 911 SW 8th on a house fire.
It happened around 8 am Wednesday.
When crews arrived, they found the residents were outside the house. The fire had spread up the outside wall of the house up to the roof.
Firefighters rescued from the house a dog, parrot, and some pet mice.
The house is home to 3 apartments, with 8 total adult residents. They all made it out safely. The Red Cross is assisting them.
One of the residents tell 13 News that he poured gas on a tree next to the house to kill it off. He lit the tree which quickly spread up the house.
Fire officials estimate the fire did $70,000 damage.

imakansasenigma:: why does he have to be on drugs? just because of where he lives? your dumb. not every body who lives in that part of topeka is on drugs.

I was thinking the same thing that he was either high from drugs or drunk. The way the news clip is, he really was sluring his words. Also, was other dumb jerk would light a tree doused with gas near a house. He had to be on something.

I vote for DUH day, this guys idiocy among many others is job security for ALOT of people, this is not the STUPIDEST I have heard yet.
