TFD Shows Off New Vehicles
The Topeka Fire Dept. acquired six new vehicles to be used by various personnel. Three of them were purchased from the Kansas Highway Patrol.

Topeka (WIBW) - The Topeka Fire Department showed off a new look for its light duty vehicles.
Orange and yellow striping and lettering adorn the department's new additions which it showed off Tuesday.
The fire department added three 2009 Ford Expeditions, which will be front line emergency response vehicles.
They also picked up a 2007 Ford Crown Victoria and a pair of 2006 Chevy Silverados. The Crown Vic will be used by the department’s Fire Marshal/Public Information Officer. The Silverados will be used by the department’s Chief of Training and Training Officers.
The department bought the Expeditions new, at a cost of $90,000. The other vehicles cost $42,000. They were purchased used from the Kansas Highway Patrol, a move the department estimates saved $24,000 to $30,000.
