Cherryvale, Kan. (KOAM-TV) - The woman who played Ethel Mertz on the TV series “I Love Lucy” now has her own postage stamp.

Vivian Vance was born in Cherryvale, Kansas. Her relatives gathered there Tuesday to attend the stamp’s unveiling at her birthplace.

Her second cousin now owns the home on West Sixth Street.

Officials with the U-S Postal Service presented a group of cousins with an enlargement of the stamp which portrays Vance and Lucille Ball in a memorable scene where they worked in a chocolate factory.

The stamp is one of 20 Early TV Memories postage stamps that the U.S.
Postal Service is releasing. Other golden era television stamps in the collection include "Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet," "Alfred Hitchcock Presents," "Dragnet," "The Ed Sullivan Show," "The Honeymooners," "The Red Skelton Show," and "Howdy Doody.”

Vance won an Emmy award in 1954 for her role as Ethel Mertz.

She died in 1979 at the age of 70.
