Shawnee County Managing $1.6M In Stimulus Money On Home Foreclosures
The county has received $1.6 million in stimulus money from the federal government to help with home foreclosures. It's a part of President Obama's Neighborhood Recovery Act.

Topeka, KS -- The county has received $1.6 million in stimulus money from the federal government to help with home foreclosures. It is a part of President Obama's Neighborhood Recovery Act.
On Monday, a plan on how to spend the money was presented to County Commissioners.
Shawnee County will manage the money. It will be spent on buying, rehabilitating, demolishing, and selling vacant units and lots. Some will be sold as affordable housing.
