State officials in Topeka got a refresher course on keeping Kansas government transparent.
Attorney General Steve Six delivered the opening remarks at the regional training session Thursday morning.
The course is designed to make sure everyone is aware of the public's right to know under the Kansas Open Records Act and Kansas Open Meetings Acts.
Six says with the turnover in state government, these sessions help ensure everyone understands the laws. He says that transparency is essential to government.
The state is hosting similar sessions about the state's open government laws all around Kansas.
