SALINA, Kan. (AP) _ Everything that could go wrong will go wrong at Crisis City.

But Kansas emergency management officials say that's exactly why they built the training site near Salina in central Kansas.

Crews from several states were set to converge on Crisis City on Tuesday, wrapping up a multistate disaster exercise that has included a foreign animal disease outbreak and a terrorist attack.

The exercise tests the coordination of state and local officials from Iowa, Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska, along with the National Guard and other federal partners.

The schedule for Tuesday included a train derailment and the use of an unmanned aerial vehicle to conduct surveillance and rescue operations.

Crisis City was built by the Kansas Emergency Management Agency near the Smoky Hill Air National Guard Weapons Range.
