Topeka (WIBW) - Piles of powder sparked a haz-mat scare that blocked a highway entrance for a couple of hours Tuesday morning.
The two piles of a yellow substance were spotted at 8am on the westbound Highway 24 entrance ramp from Goodyear Road.
Topeka fire personnel haz-mat crews were called to check it out and take samples.
Fire officials say it turned out to be egg gluten, a non-hazardous feed additive that likely spilled from a agricultural truck or wagon.
The ramp from Goodyear Road to westbound Highway 24 was blocked for two hours while crews investigated.
