HUTCHINSON, Kan. (AP) _ A 26-year-old Hutchinson man who prosecutors say led a $3 million mortgage fraud scheme was in prison when the crimes allegedly occurred.
Eric M. Rabicoff is accused of devising a scheme in 2006 to defraud lenders by recruiting people to pretend to buy homes and submit false information to get loans.
Kansas Department of Corrections records show Rabicoff was in the El Dorado Correctional Facility in 2006.
Rabicoff was one of 10 people indicted in the alleged scheme, the U.S. Attorney's Office said Thursday. The government is seeking the forfeiture of more than $3 million in proceeds from the crimes.
