Topeka (WIBW) - The emergency siren at Logan Elementary School was temporarily removed Thursday for the school's renovation.
The district has been providing the property and electricity to keep the siren running for the past several years.
Officials would like to move the siren near the district's administrative building. They say that spot is open and has fewer trees, which would help the siren's function.
Residents in the area are advised to tune into radio and television, as well as weather radios to keep advised on dangerous weather.
The closest siren in the area is located east of Logan at Lyman Elementary School.
