Topeka, KS -- A Topeka man is taking to his bike to raise money for cancer. Eric Nordgren plans to ride 5,000 miles this summer to raise funds and awareness about cancer.

He took off from Topeka on Wednesday morning and is on his way to Atwood, Kan. He plans to arrive in Atwood on Thursday.

Then he’ll be biking all summer. The last 250 miles of his ride will be in memory of his father who died from cancer.

Nordgreen is involved with a fundraiser that supports the Kansas University Cancer Center and the Lance Armstrong Foundation.
