WICHITA, Kan. (AP) _ Jurors have convicted a man of sexually assaulting a Wichita-area convenience store clerk during the three days he held her captive.

Sedgwick County jurors deliberated less than two hours before finding Robert Abner guilty of six counts of rape, two counts of aggravated sodomy, aggravated robbery and aggravated kidnapping.

Prosecutors said Abner robbed the clerk in June while she was working at a Viola convenience story, blindfolded her and forced her to ride on the floor of the getaway car.

He eventually dropped her off outside the home of her family's minister.

But the defense said that the clerk left willingly with Abner and that he planned on taking her home that evening but became nervous because of the media attention.

Sentencing is set for July 10.
