Wabaunsee County Celebrates 150 Years

ALMA, Kan. - Wabaunsee County celebrates it's sesquicentennial Saturday, June 6th.
Highlights of the celebration include: a Native American Ceremonial Smoke Blessing of the Grounds, flag raising, national anthem, Fort Riley Mounted Color Guard, Commemorative Walk following the Underground Railroad, guest speakers, cannon demonstrations by 3rd Kansas Light Artillery Battery "B" Civil War Reenactors, stage entertainment, live music and a street dance!
A food court and craft vendors will also be set up for the event.
Organizers say bring your own lawn chair if you want to sit and enjoy the day around the Wabaunsee County Courthouse in Alma, Kan.
The free fun starts at 9 a.m. and lasts until 11 p.m.
