Declining revenues have the Kansas State University foundation downsizing. The foundation announced Wednesday it will eliminate 13 staff positions.
In addition, foundation staff will be furloughed for 11 days, from mid-May through July. Senior management staff has agreed to accept pay cuts.
It says staff members who lose their will receive a severance package and help find a new job.
The plans are on top of earlier actions, including stopping construction of a new foundation office building and implementing a hiring freeze.
Calling the financial strain "unprecedented," foundation officials blame the reduced endowment earnings on down markets.
