Man Found Dead in Hoyt Home
Jackson County officials say a Hoyt man was found dead of an apparent gunshot wound around 9:30 Tuesday morning.

HOYT, Kan. - At about 9:30 a.m. Tuesday the Jackson County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call that there was a gunshot victim at 608 McKeage, Hoyt.
The Hoyt Fire Department was first on the scene. EMS and First Responders were not able to revive the victim.
Sheriff's Deputies arrived on scene to find a white male subject with what appeared to be a single gunshot. Chief Detective Al Dunn said it was a family member that placed that 911 call.
13 News spoke with other members in the Hoyt community who know the residents of 608 McKeage, and they said two children live with the couple. Dunn said they were not home at the time of the shooting.
Dunn said he hasn't ruled the shooting homicide or suicide. He said more information will come out during the investigation.
The circumstances of the shooting are currently under investigation by the Jackson County Sheriff's Office, the Jackson County Attorney's Office and the Coroner's Office.
