Topeka fire officials say an abandoned apartment complex was intentionally set on fire Sunday night.

Firefighters responded to the fire at 634 Southwest Taylor around 6:30 Sunday evening, additional crews were called in about an hour later. Crews fought the fire throughout the night.

Flames were spotted on the third floor of the abandoned structure and thick smoke could be seen a few miles away from the fire.

This isn't the first time firefighters have battled a blaze here either, fire investigators blamed arson for a fire at this same complex on October 25th of last year.

The October fire caused $25,000 in damages.

No word on how Sunday's fire may have started or how much damage was caused.
