Franklin County authorities Friday identified a body found in a burned-out vehicle Wednesday night.
Sheriff Craig Davis says an autopsy shows it is 39-year old Lena Roye Mathenthin of Garnett.
Davis says Mathenthin was on her home from the Princeton area when she drove into the ditch west of Richmond and became stuck. He says that when she tried to get the vehicle out, the catalytic or muffler system set the dry grass on fire. The fire then spread to the passenger compartment.
Davis says it's not known why she stayed in the vehicle or could not get out of the vehicle. However, he says no foul play is suspected.
Davis says Mathenthin was identified through dental records.
