A 4-month-old boy is dead after the car he was riding in crashed into a pickup truck that ran a stop sign near Chanute in southeast Kansas.

The Kansas Highway Patrol says Ty Ingels was killed in the Wilson County crash late Tuesday afternoon. The driver of the car, 27-year-old Jennifer Martin, and 21-month-old Adison Ingels were injured and taken to Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center in Chanute.

I can't believe how many people are after the mother. Yes it is horrible that she did not buckle them up. But I'm 35yrs and I don't remember how many time growing up we were not but on car seats and the same goes for my parents. It was a horrible accident. I feel for the mother and my prayers are with her.

Does it really matter if there was an emergency it takes 2 seconds to buckle a baby in to a seat there is NO reason what so ever that those children werent in their carseats

Wow. Way to cast the first stone. Do you think the mom has enough guilt to live with? You can be so quick to judge a mother based on a 6 sentence article. I feel sorry for both parties. The truck driver and the mother. I do believe that not using car seats for your babies is ignorant but we may not know all the circumstances behind the story. Was there an emergency, hence the speed and no use of restraints?
