Give 45 minutes of your time, and give someone else life.

That's the idea behind the blood drive at Land Kansas Real Estate today. From 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., donor volunteers can give blood in the Community Blood Center's "Blood Vessel."

Parked at 6600 S.W. 10th, the medical center on wheels can assist seven or eight donors an hour. The paperwork takes about 20 or 30 minutes, and the time giving blood last 10 minutes.

Barbara Wittmer organized today's event in honor of her granddaughter, Chelsea Branam, who is in remission after being diagnosed with leukemia in September 2007.

For more information about today's drive, contact Wittmer at 785-272-9966 or barbwittmer@cox.net.
