A Topeka day care provider was sentenced Friday for a 6-month-old boy's death. Michelle Bolze-Sann, 35, will spend 32 months in prison for involuntary manslaughter and an additional six months on aggravated endangerment of a child.
She was found guilty in November for the July 2007 death of Zachary Typer. Authorities say the boy couldn't breathe after he slipped between the mattress and footboard while at her day care.

The parents I fill are at blame for there childs death as parent would know in looking for a good daycare they first do a walk through of the home and check to see if the home meets proper childcare requiremnets and if it doesn't then it is up to YOU as a parent not to use the childcare provider & to find a provider that meets all requirements. And if you do decide to use the provider then YOU are saying that YOU are aware of the dangers and YOU don't care. The provider will have to live with this the rest of her life she didn't need to be labeled as such, the judge in this case should look in the mirror and think if she did something wrong would she like to be labeled as such and where is the label for the parents staying that they knew and didn't care.

She was a liscensed daycare provider and she did know it was against the law but did it anyway. The crib she had was broken but she failed to tell the parents that, so they had no idea that she was placing him on an adult bed. Had they known they would have given her the extra playpen they had. They had already checked her out but she wasn't honest with them to tell them the crib was broken. I think the judge did right in this case. It is a message to all daycare providers that this kind of negligence will not be tolerated.

was she a registered day care provider? if so she would have known that babies have to have proper beds. did the parents know that the baby was sleeping on an adult bed. years ago there was a day care provider that let a baby slip between a water bed frame, and the bladder. she recieved no time. or even went to court. parents need to check these things out before leaving their babies.
