Pet owners whose best friends act a bit like "Marley" from the movie and book can find help at the Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library.

The library held the first of a three-part series on dog training Saturday afternoon. Rick and Perrin Riggs showed pet owners how to use positive reinforcement to makeover their rowdy Rovers.

The first session focused on getting a dog to come when called. A second session January 10th will focus on a technique called "clicker training." The final session is January 24th, on teaching dogs to walk on a loose leash.

The classes are for humans only. Each is free, and held from 2 to 4 pm on its respective date.

The sessions are sponsored by Topeka's Helping Hands Humane Society.
