Big changes for a Topeka-area golf course also mean a new chapter for a local restaurant owner. Great Life Golf and Fitness announced Wednesday it has acquired Western Hills.
Great Life will maintain the 18-hole course, pro shop, driving range and Sand Trap Bar and Grill. They'll also transform what's currently Aboud's restaurant into a state-of-the-art fitness center.
Berkshire, Prairie View and Lake Perry are among Great Life's other golf courses. As for Abouds, owner Brad Aboud says he'd already begun construction of a new facility for his catering business, which will continue.

Great news for Topeka's golfers. Western Hills has been traditionally the best place for fund raising golf tournaments and that won't change. And as far as "deals" for golgers and fitness fanatics, have you ever heard of a better deal than $29 a month for the whole family?
