A plastic two liter bottle caused quite a scare at Pleasant Hill Elementary school Monday.

Sergeant Semeca tells 13 news that a janitor at the school noticed a classroom window was broken around 10:30 Tuesday morning and called police.

Once authorities arrived on scene, they saw that someone had thrown a piece of metal through the window, then tried to lodge a plastic bottle through it. A piece of wire mesh prevented the bottle from going through.

Authorities called state Fire Marshals, along with hazmat to the scene to investigate the liquid substance in the bottle.

No one was at school because of Christmas Break.

The Shawnee County Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident.
