MANHATTAN, Kansas. Manhattan-Ogden USD 383 is pleased to announce that the 2009 USD 383 Master Teacher and Kansas Master Teacher candidate is Mrs. Bev Fulton.

Mrs. Fulton is a kindergarten teacher at Amanda Arnold Elementary School. She received her BA degree in Elementary Education from Ottawa University in 1977 and her MS degree in Educational Administration and Leadership from Kansas State University in 2002. She has taught in Manhattan-Ogden USD 383 for 16 years.

“I am truly honored to be selected as the USD 383 Master Teacher for 2009 and now look forward to representing our district at the state level,” states Fulton. “I am so fortunate to have the opportunity to work daily with our youngest students and be a part of shaping their future.”

Each USD 383 school was asked to nominate a teacher to be their Master Teacher candidate. The Manhattan-Ogden NEA Master Teacher/Teacher of the Year committee reviewed all of the nominees and selected Mrs. Fulton as our district candidate. She is in the process of completing a notebook of her teaching experiences for the state committee in Emporia.

The winners for the State of Kansas will be announced in the spring.
