Governor Kathleen Sebelius has reappointed several Kansans to groups throughout the state.

“There are a number of worthy boards and commissions across our state that directly impact the lives of Kansans,” Sebelius said. “I appreciate Kansans’ willingness to serve.”

“State agencies work closely with state boards, councils and commissions to make sure we meet the needs of Kansans,” Sebelius said. “They provide important outreach and oversight and I appreciate the work of these individuals in continuing to serve their state.”

Ginger Barr, Topeka, has been reappointed to a three-year term on the Unmarked Burial Preservation Board. The board provides for the establishment and maintenance of a registry of unmarked burial sites in the state.

Doug Billings, Lawrence, has been reappointed to a four-year term on the Radiologic Technology Council. This council assists the state Board of Healing Arts in carrying out the provisions of the Radiologic Technologists Practice Act. Licensing requirements include satisfactory completion of a course of study in radiography, radiation therapy, or nuclear medicine technology and successfully passing a license examination approved by the state Board of Healing Arts.

Larry Blake Jr., Dodge City; Bryce Cole, Goodland; and Janice Huston, Americus, were reappointed to four-year terms on the State Highway Advisory Commission. The commission reviews the status of the Kansas highways and recommends to the Secretary of Transportation plans for improvement of the entire system of roads and highways.

Lonnie Busch, Leoti; Heather Donley, Ellsworth; and Steve Estes, Atchison, were reappointed to three-year terms on the Kansas Animal Health Board. The board serves as an advisory and policy making board to the Kansas livestock commissioner. The livestock commissioner helps to ensure the public health safety and welfare of Kansas’ citizens through prevention, control and eradication of infectious and contagious disease and conditions affecting the health of livestock and domestic animals.

Cathy Sherfick, Ogallah, has been reappointed to a four-year term on the Northwest Kansas Regional Library System. The system consults and advises the state librarian and governor regarding policies, management and services to best promote and advance the use and usefulness of the state library and its extension services.
