MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) _ The Highway Patrol says a northeast Kansas man is dead after a bizarre crash that apparently was caused by a passenger kicking the vehicle's gearshift into ``Park.''

Troopers said Monday that said the pickup truck's wheels locked and rolled on Interstate 70 east of the Highway 177 exit to Manhattan Sunday morning.

The patrol says 19-year-old passenger Mauritius Meyer of Lansing died at Topeka's Stormont Vail Hospital early Monday. The driver, 18-year-old Myles Runyon of Overland Park, and 18-year-old passenger Jeffrey Fink of Smith Center were taken to Manhattan's Mercy Hospital.

Whether the passenger kicked the gearshift was accidentally was unknown.
