German, Italian Officers to Pay Homage to POW's Buried at Fort Riley Save Email Print

FORT RILEY, Kan. - A delegation of German and Italian officers from Fort Leavenworth will pay homage to World War II prisoners of war buried at the Fort Riley Post Cemetery during the German and Italian Memorial Ceremony at 11 a.m. Friday.

Members of the German delegation include Col. Michael Oberneyer, Lt. Col. Tim Zahn, Maj. Guenther Daniels and Sgt. Maj. Ronny Raemsch.

The Italian delegation consists of Lt. Col. Michele Turi. The delegations will lay a wreath in memory of their countries' soldiers. German and Italian Taps will be played and a detail from Fort Riley will fire a three-round volley.
