WICHITA, Kan. (AP) _ A California production firm is suing the Little House on the Prairie museum on the southeast Kansas homestead where Laura Ingalls Wilder once lived.

Friendly Family Productions filed a lawsuit last week against Little House on the Prairie Inc., which runs a small museum on a farm outside Independence. The suit claims trademark infringement, unfair competition and trademark dilution.

Museum President Jean Schodorf and her brother, Bill Kurtis, own the farm that was at the center of the Little House on the Prairie book. In a telephone interview Monday, she said the museum owns two trademarks with that name.

An attorney for Friendly Family Productions did not immediately return a phone call seeking comment.

I am sorry to hear about a company that thinks they invented the wheel, trying to ruin the person that actually invented the wheel. Excuse me, but The Little House on the Prairie Books written in 1935 came out long before Michael Landon's shiny little butt was ever put on earth. Family Friendly Productions has no right putting there stinky little head in a law suit against the farm house museum in Kansas!! What greed!!! The sad thing is there is probably more money to be made by the courts out of Hollywood than from a Kansas prairie. I lived in Kansas 30 years & would move back if we had a job. Good night John Boy & go to ****. Jane
