Union members at an Atchison manufacturing plant will found out Friday whether their contract has been extended. United Food and Commercial workers voted Friday on a proposal from MGP ingredients for the extension.

Union members began a strike at the Atchison plant September 27th after negotiations on a new contract fell through. The original contract expired on August 31st.

Union officials say it was open poll Friday and the voting was ongoing until about 5:00 p.m. this Friday evening. Officials expect to have those votes counted by 6:30 p.m. More details to come.
