GREENSBURG, Kan. (AP) _ Greensburg is beginning construction of its new City Hall.

Officials from the city and the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Rural Development program had a groundbreaking ceremony Friday for the $2.95 million, energy-efficient facility.

The building will replace the one that was destroyed during the May 4, 2007, tornado that nearly destroyed the community.

Funding includes $1.18 million from the Federal Emergency Management Agency and $900,000 from the Agriculture Department. Other money is coming from insurance, the state and the city.
