Local students are doing their part to help out those in need around Topeka. Christ the King Elementary School held a clothing drive Thursday.

The two eighth grade classes participated in the drive - bringing in old clothing, gloves, socks, and any other items they felt could be used.

The Topeka Rescue Mission picked the clothing up.

The students say this is a great opportunity for them to help out those who are less fortunate, especially with the winter season approaching.

All the items will go to people around Topeka in need.
