To those opposition of misty- You nosy people don't realize that it was a mistake and those kids need to learn their lesson at a young age so that it doesn't come to haunt them at an older age. In my opinion a baby is more important than some birds that got slaughtered. Wake up America and smell the coffee. These kids need to be given a second chance!!!!!

I really believe that the kids involved didn't realize the magnitude of their actions. I think swift and harsh punishment is in order, then let them learn the lesson about how animals feel too and then let them get on with their lives.

to all of you that wrote your comments about the birds and abortion . does not the bible say thou shalt not kill ? it does not define that as babies , women , children, men or even any of the vast gods creatures. i personally do not believe in abortion unless it endangers the mothers life or she got pregnant during a rape . i am a somewhat avid hunter but only believe in killing what i am gonna eat . SO WHO IS RIGHT AND WHO IS WRONG HERE ? lets start by getting the 12 year old and the bird killing kid some badly needed help PLEASE.

Misty, I'm behind you. It's time we as humans start defending the unborn. A babies life is of much more importance than that of any animal. That was a great opportunity for you to state your opinion on such a hidden matter, people are afraid to voice their opionions on abortion. I stand for prolife. I'm 12 yrs old and I love all babies and animals. People need to stop killing animals and most of all unborn babies. Killing babies should be illegal as killing animals. Thats my statement. AMEN!

Misty I hate when people like you turn every thing into a chance to talk about abortion, the real problem is there is a kid with some real problems and we as a community should insist this kid get help.

Future convicted FELON

The punishment is lacking for the nature of the crime. He got off easy. Hopefully it will help him though. I dont think he has any idea what he is about to experience in those 30 days in states custody. Misty, you are a fool. Why would you relate this to abortion? The only time we hear about abortion anymore is when someones trying to get elected to office, its an old subject. Move on. Dont try to appeal to the bleeding hearts. WIBW showed poor decision by approving your comment.

to misty - it wasnt just a "dumb ole bird" but a living breathing animal. all living things are precious, human or animal. wake up yourself.

this is nothing. this will not teach this idiot that animals lives are just as precious as humans. the punishment should be harsher. this kid will grow up to be more menace to society. what a waste of a human.

Kids these days. You hear more and more about kids young kids comiting crimes such as this one. Then you had the two younger kids that robbed the pizza man with a gun. What has the world came to I hope those kids realize that it wasn't a joke and they will be punished.

What are we going to do about the thousands of innocent babies that are slaughtered everyday? A baby's life is of much more importance than a dumb ole bird. Yes, I agree this person needs to pay for the senseless killing of birds. Good Grief, wake up America and also stop the killing of our unborn babies. This probably won't get shown here, by WIBW, but that's my comment......
