State senator Laura Kelly has to approach this campaign a little different than she had planned.

Last weekend she fell during a parade in Alta Vista and broke her femur.

Wednesday, Governor Sebelius joined her at a campaign rally in Potwin.

Kelly can't campaign door to door anymore, but she doesn't plan to stop talking to people. She'll be making phone calls while her supporters go door to door for her.

Kelly is seeking a second term in the Kansas senate for the 18th district. The district covers Wabaunsee County and parts of Shawnee County.

She was first elected in 2004.

I have sat in on state senate committee meetings in the past and senator kelly has been one of the few senators that I really respect. She has earned my vote.
