The following is a statement from Lt. Governor Mark Parkinson:
“At its last meeting, the Kansas Energy Council approved preliminary policy recommendations for the 2008 Kansas Energy Report.
“This report will be delivered to the Kansas Corporation Commission, the Legislature and Governor Sebelius.
“But before the Energy Council approves and delivers this report, we want to get input from Kansans so that the final product reflects a common vision for a comprehensive energy plan.
“There will be a public hearing on Tuesday, September 30 at Wichita State University from 9:00 a.m. to noon.
“I will be there, along with members of my staff and key leaders from the Kansas Energy Council. I hope that Kansans will join us to share their thoughts and concerns as we move together towards a clean energy future.
“I also invite the media to join us in raising public awareness about this important effort.”
