A big swing in the crime picture for Kansas City, MO. Instead of the 22 percent decrease they'd initially reported for last year, police now say Kansas City had a 10 percent increase in crime, the sharpest rise in at least 10 years.

Police Chief Jim Corwin blamed the error on several factors including a new computer system, a change in how crimes are counted, and too few people entering data.

An audit showed thousands of incomplete police reports lingering in the system were not counted.
