Manhattan, KS (WIBW)--A teenager on his bike was hit by a car and rushed to the hospital Sunday morning in Manhattan.

It happened near Tuttle Creek Blvd and Bluemont Avenue around 8:30 a.m.

The Kansas Highway Patrol tells 13 News that 19-year-old li Jie failed to yield and crossed traffic; he was hit by a SUV. The driver and passenger of that vehicle were not injured in the accident.

All involved in the accident are from the Manhattan area.

The young man on the bicycle was not wearing a helmet. Jie was taken to Mercy Medical Center, no word on his current condition.
