FRANKFORT, Kan. (AP) _ The Kansas Animal Health Department has
seized 187 dogs from an unlicensed Marshall County retail breeder
facility.
The department announced the seizure Friday, a week after it took the dogs from a breeder facility owned and operated by John Huninghake, of Frankfort.
Department officials say an inspection revealed living conditions that ``endangered the dogs' health, safety and welfare.''
Officials said they found severely underweight dogs, some to the point of emaciation, in an environment infested with swarms of flies and several large maggot populations.
The department said Huninghake relinquished ownership of the dogs on Thursday, rather than contest their seizure. The animals are now eligible for adoption at licensed facilities.

This makes me sick even little emily could have bought and feed those dogs. Instead she went on an expensive trip to Europe! So think about it everyone in that house is guilty so how about them and ryan go spend some time in the slammer.

So sad that this happened in the town I grew up in. But on the other hand it didn't shock when I saw who it was. Greed is one thing but to make living creatures suffer is repulsive! I hope there is one hell of a fine and some jail time would be satisfactory.
