The Kickapoo Nation has declared a health care emergency.

Kickapoo Tribe in Kansas chairman Steve Cadue has called for emergency funding from the Oklahoma City area Indian Health Service Office to help a health-care funding crisis. Cadue says funding has gone down while clinic usage has increased.

More than 2900 Native Americans eligible for aid use the Kickapoo Nation Health Center and Three Tribes Dental Clinic.

Cadue asked Congresswoman Nancy Boyda and Senators Sam Brownback and Pat Roberts to continue working for increased health care funding for tribes.
