WASHINGTON (AP) _ Republican congressional candidate Nick Jordan
took in more campaign cash than incumbent Democratic Rep. Dennis
Moore over the latest reporting period.
It's the first time Jordan, a state senator from Johnson County, has outraised his Democratic rival in the race for Kansas' 3rd congressional district.
Jordan pulled in more than $480,000 over the last three and a half months, compared to $336,000 for Moore.
But Moore, of Lenexa, still has a wide lead when it comes to cash on hand. Moore has more than $1.1 million in the bank, while Jordan has about $616,000.
The numbers came in reports to the Federal Election Commission.
Moore has been repeatedly targeted by the GOP since he was first elected to the Kansas City-area district in 1998.
