The Holton community enjoyed festivities on Main street Thursday night.

The Jackson County town held a community barbecue and street dance to celebrate Holton's recent designation as a Kansas Main Street City.

That means Holton is working to preserve and revitalize its downtown district.

Thursday's street dance featured local talent Dara and The Noxie Ridge Band.
