Osage County Celebrates With Parade Save Email Print

A northeast Kansas county is celebrating itself and summer this week.

The Osage County Fair continued today with the Osage City Chamber of Commerce's parade through downtown.

The parade has been a tradition for nearly five decades.

"It's been a tradition for a long time, they've done this parade ever since I could remember. It means getting family together and I think it's good for the community. It's a small town, but it's a good thing," said Nancy Washburn, Osage City Parade Chair.

The Osage County Fair wraps up Tuesday, but there are plenty of events to fill the day.

Breakfast starts at 8 a.m., the evening carnival will start about 6 p.m. and don't miss Talent Night at 8 p.m.

The fair actually ends on Wed night. There is a free concert at the fair featuring The Mark Trammell trio, Sound Advice Quartet, and Jim Gardner. The concert starts at 7pm. If you like Southern Gospel music you will not want to miss this! There are bleachers, but you might want to bring lawn chairs too.
