Two Topeka churches are reaching out to put an end to the recent violence in Topeka.

Over the past week there have been four homicides in Northeast Kansas.

Tuesday El Shaddai and Topeka First Assembly of God gathered members from the community to pray together, sending a call out to the community to stop the violence, starting with our younger generations.

"It takes all of us, not only to raise a child, but to be examples to those same children that we're talking about. They have to know that somebody cares enough to come together in a concerted effort for their well-being," said Rev. Tom Watson of El Shaddai Ministries.

The churches are looking to gather 300 men from throughout the entire community to regularly pray for the city.
