Fort Riley, KS - The 1st Infantry Division and Fort Riley have a new Assistant Division Commander for Operations.

Brigadier General Perry L. Wiggins was welcomed Monday morning to the Big Red One from the Pentagon where he served as the Deputy Director for Regional Operations on the Joint Staff.

At Fort Riley, Wiggins will ensure all Division assets are logistically prepared and trained for their missions. He is also the Deputy Commanding General, so he will take charge of the 1st Infantry Division and Fort Riley in the absence of the Commanding General, Major General Robert Durbin.

Wiggins says he will do whatever the Commanding General needs him to focus on, but will primarily focus on operations, training, and the day-to-day functions of the division.

Wiggins also says he is excited to be joining a community that embraces the soldiers at its post so much.
