FORT RILEY, Kan. -The 1st Brigade, 1st Infantry Division will conduct a
change of command ceremony at 9 a.m. July 9 on Cavalry Parade Field.

Col. Jeff Ingram will relinquish command of the brigade and the Transition Team training mission to Col. Eric J. Wesley.

Ingram has commanded 1st Bde. since May 2006. At the end of the month, he will be deployed to Iraq where he will work as the chief of staff for the Iraq Assistance Group.

Under his leadership, the 1st Brigade has trained more than 9,000
servicemembers who have deployed as advisors in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Wesley comes to Fort Riley from the National War College in Washington, D.C. where he earned his Masters Degree in National Security Strategy. He previously served with the 1st Inf. Div. as the G3 from July 2006 to June 2007 and with 1st Battalion, 34th Armor Regiment from May 1991 until December 1993.
