Manhattan city crews are collecting tree limbs and other yard debris in areas of the city hit hard by last week's tornado.

The debris must be placed by the curb to be picked up.

Clean-up crews are mainly focusing on debris blown into yards by the storm.

The removal of structures that were destroyed must be privately arranged by homeowners and in conjunction with the City's Building Code Department.

The Flint Hills American Red Cross and Salvation Army are offering financial assistance to those that need it. Contact them at 785-537-2180 and 785-539-9399 respectively.

Residents and volunteers with vehicles in damaged areas are asked to move them to help speed the clean-up process by making room for trucks and equipment.
